Let me start with a big thanks to Beth Widera and all of the folks at MegaCon as well as the OC Convention Center for putting on such a great show! It was an awesome experience and I look forward to returning.
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -Only this, and nothing more.'
A few of the Comic Book Idol Finalists (including myself) got together to do some 'Holiday Pin-Ups'. This is my relatively uninspired contribution, I had been kicking it around in my head for a while and aside from the skull ornament, wrapping paper background and pin-up girl, I really couldn't think of anything that I wanted to draw. In the end I figured, what the hell? It's been awhile since I drew something for no particular reason so here it is.All together now... Meh'
So 22 pages and 123 panels later I've wrapped my Pencils on BOOM! STUDIOS SALEM: Queen of Thorns Issue No. 0 - Written by Chris Morgan and Kevin Walsh, awesome Colors by Andrew Dalhouse. I'll be updating with more information (solicitation, shipping, all that good stuff) on this project soon so check back. Cheers!
Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.
Okay, that's gotta' be some sort of record... maybe not, I guess it could've been worse. Here's my Gypsy Dancing Girl Type Chick (for lack of a better name). I had a piece of paper left over from my Comic Book Idol 3 Round 2 entry where I printed out the grid from my art boards onto an 8.5" x 11" piece of Bristol - Pencil: 2H Faber-Castell / Ink: Pentel Color Brush (for those who like to know that stuff). In any case - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I have to admit, part of me was holding off on doing this sketch until today but c'mon! Can you really blame me? I just wanted to let you all know in case you haven’t checked it out already that COMIC BOOK IDOL 3: Round One has been posted up on the CBR Forum HERE. Each entrants work is listed as a separate thread like so (Round 1: Wilfredo Torres). Depending on how much time you have on your hands you can also go into the Comment Thread and check out what people are saying and drop your own .02 cents in!
If Parallax is the one behind all the craziness, how come its the Sinestro Corps? Anyway that's two Green Lantern villains in a row, hopefully that makes up for that horrible sketch in some small way ;) I could just keep going on these but I think this is going to be it for the Legion of Doom... bring on The Avengers!
